Texas Bringing In Big Timers

The Texas Longhorns invited three big time prospects to campus for the first weekend in May. You won't believe who is coming to Austin.

Horns Hosting Three Major Recruits

Rick Barnes is looking to capitalize on the Longhorns most recent Final Four appearance with a huge 2004 recruiting year. His squad already has what recruiting buffs would term a pair of early commitments.

Dion Dowell, a promising forward, was the first to commit to Texas in the winter. Daniel Gibson, one of the elite level guards in the nation, followed suit on his birthday with a commitment. Now, Gibson gets to play ambassador.

On May 2, the Longhorns invited Gibson to campus for his official visit. But, they didn't just stop with him. Also coming to campus will be Top Five talent Lamarcus Aldridge and high-major power forward Mike Williams from Alabama.

Both prospects will be on their official visits.

Since last year when juniors became eligible to take early official visits, many schools have taken advantage of the rule. The weekend Texas is the biggest concentration of talent on a spring visit that we've heard of. We'll see how many Texas is able to land in Austin.
