Wainright off the board

Ishmail Wainright became the second commitment for Missouri on Sunday.

New Head Coach Frank Haith and his staff at Missouri are wasting no time loading up in the 2013 class. On Saturday night they secured the services of Tyrek Coger, and now Ishmail Wainright has joined the fold.

At 6-foot-5 and 220 pounds, Wainright is a beast of a combo forward. He attracted big time interest from schools such as Missouri, Arkansas, Baylor, Kansas, St. John's, and others, but in the end it was the lure of staying close to home that was too much.

On Sunday afternoon Wainright decided it was time to end his recruitment as he pledged his services to Missouri.

"It's a hometown thing," said Wainright. "I can play close to home and I really like Frank Haith."

Currently Wainright is ranked as the No. 17 overall prospect by Scout.com. Wainright has had a solid spring playing on the Nike EYBL circuit with Memphis YOMCA. He now joins Coger to form a solid start to the 2013 class for the Tigers.
