I spoke with Wright recently and he gave me a list of schools that have been in contact with him.
"Washington, Washington State, Colorado, Penn State, UCLA, USC, most of the Big West schools, San Francisco, Santa Clara and Cal," said Wright. "Colorado has offered and so have many of the low to mid majors."
Wright has been to local schools UCLA and USC for camps. He said several schools have been asking him to take unofficial visits.
"Cal Poly, UC Riverside, Penn State and UC Irvine are all asking me to visit," said Wright.
I asked Wright about the issues he will consider when picking a school.
"The education is important – I want something to fall back on if basketball doesn't work out for some reason," said Wright. "The location isn't really a big deal, although it would be nice to stay close so my family could see me play. But if there is a better opportunity away from home then I'm fine with it. I'd definitely like to have a chance to get playing time early, but I'm willing to work for it."
Wright doesn't sound like he's in a hurry to reach a decision.
"I want to play through July and look at all my options," said Wright.
Wright said he has a 3.6 GPA.
