Scout.com's 35th ranked 2013 prospect, 6-foot-8, 255-pound Hyattsville (Md.) DeMatha center Beejay Anya already has a long list of schools fighting for him.
To date, he says he's accumulated 15 scholarship offers.
"I have offers from Virginia, Virginia Tech, Georgetown, Maryland, Pittsburgh, Rutgers, St. John's, UCLA, Texas, South Florida, South Carolina, N.C. State, Tulsa, Clemson and Indiana," Anya said.
At this stage in his recruitment, Anya is still sorting things through and doesn't have any favorites.
"I'm open right now," he said. "I'm taking it all in right now. Next year I'll probably narrow my list down."
Anya hasn't taken any visits yet but hopes to see at least a couple of schools when he has the chance.
"I'm hoping to look at some of the local schools like Georgetown and Maryland, hopefully this summer or the next," Anya said.
While they may not have offered scholarships, Anya mentioned two schools that he watched growing up.
"I grew up rooting for a lot of teams. I liked Syracuse a lot when I was younger and I liked UConn as well," he said.
When it comes time to make a decision, Anya already has a feeling what he'll be looking for.
"I'm looking for a school that will have a homey feeling, where I feel like I'm at home and I'm wanted," Anya said. "Also a school that I think takes strength and conditioning very seriously and values their big men."
