At 6-foot-6 and 170 pounds, Beachem is a talented big wing with an ability to really make shots and also has a feel for the game. He made the switch to the Eric Gordon All-Stars this spring, and so far he feels it is going well.
"This spring has gone pretty good," said Beachem. "We have a very talented team. We are still trying to gel, but things are going good and we are working on winning every game."
One of the interesting thing about his AAU team is the entire starting five is between 6-foot-5 and 6-foot-7, and all already have high-major offers. With all five guys as natural wing players some felt it wouldn't work, but Beachem feels it is going just fine.
"It's fun, but then again you want to distribute the ball and be all about the team," Beachem explained. "In college it won't be one-on-one it is a team game."
When it comes to his recruitment, Beachem has a lone offer from the Purdue Boilermakers, and a long list of schools showing him significant interest that are waiting to monitor him in July before issuing an offer.
At this point in time Beachem says that he is just enjoying everything that comes with being a recruited prospect and is seeing what all is out there for him.
"It is very fun," said Beachem of the recruiting process. "Coaches come to see me practice and play in open gym, it is just real nice. Hopefully I can expand off of this and use this experience for next year."
Already three of his AAU teammates have decided to commit to colleges, but for Beachem making an early decision doesn't seem to be in the plans.
"I am still just taking it slow and taking it all in," explained Beachem. "I don't see a decision coming any time soon. It will be a while."
