Artis Picking Up Offers

Dominic Artis is one of the more improved players in the west over the last year and he has offers from several high major programs...

Dominic Artis, 5-11 SR PG Richmond (Calif.) Salesian, is a very talented prospect and he's in the running for top point guard in the west for 2012. Artis has grown a couple inches in the last year and that has made a big impact on his game. He's a true point, with good vision and feel, and a very nice stroke. He elevates well on his jumper and he's an above average athlete.

I spoke with Artis recently and he gave me a list of schools that have been recruiting him.

"Oregon, Cal, Washington State, Nevada, Florida International, Florida State, Colorado and Stanford," said Artis. "Cal, Colorado, Florida State, Washington State, Nevada and Florida International have offered."

Artis talked a little about the issues he will consider when picking a school.

"I want to go to a school where they get up and down, with a good coach, nice campus and just an all-around good fit," said Artis. "I'll go anywhere, the location doesn't really matter."

Artis has been to local schools Cal and Stanford. He said he may take a couple other visits.

"I think I'm going to visit Washington State and Oregon," said Artis.

Artis said he hopes to make his decision sometime after the summer. He said he has a 3.3 GPA.
