2012 Intro: Sekou Wiggs

Sekou Wiggs, a talented 2012 combo guard from Seattle, has a long list of schools expressing interest in him....

Sekou Wiggs, 6-2 SR PG/SG Seattle (Wash.) O'Dea, is a very intriguing prospect and one of the better guards in the west for 2012. He's a very good athlete, with a solid shot and the ability to get to the rim and finish. He's not a true one, but he can probably defend either spot in the backcourt and he has a chance to play some one down the road.

I spoke with Wiggs recently and he gave me a list of schools that have been recruiting him.

"Gonzaga, Washington State, Washington, Oregon State, USF, Cal, Cal Poly, UC Irvine, Portland State and Boise State," said Wiggs.

Wiggs talked a little about the factors that will influence his decision.

"The campus, how interested in me they are and the environment, said Wiggs. "The location isn't really a big deal, but I would like to play at a high level if possible. I'd like to play in the Pac-12."

Wiggs said three schools stand out for him at the moment.

"USF, Washington State and Cal would probably be the top one right now," said Wiggs.

Wiggs visited Portland State last month and said he will visit Washington State on June 18th.

"I may take a road trip with my Dad to the California schools after July," said Wiggs. "I'd like to make my decision before my senior season."

Wiggs said he has a 2.7 GPA.
