Allen has top three

2013 Sacramento wing Dakarai Allen has interest from several schools, but he talks to about who stands out right now as well as what he'll be looking for in a school.

Dakarai Allen's impressive spring on the AAU circuit has helped him pick up early interest from colleges out west. The 6-foot-4, 180-pound Sacramento (Calif.) Sheldon wing is happy with how he's played so far.

"I'm playing well," Allen said. "I could do a little better on the offensive end but on defense I'm solid. On defense I'm doing a good job of stopping the other team. I'm working on my offensive game; midrange and off-hand dribbling."

So far, Allen has an offer from San Francisco with interest from several other schools.

"I'm hearing from Arizona, Pepperdine, Cal Poly, UCLA, USC, Stanford, Notre Dame Oregon, Colorado, Washington State and Boise State" Allen said.

Allen listed a top three of Arizona, Pepperdine and UCLA and mentioned what he likes about all three programs.

"I just like Arizona's program," he said. "I've heard good things about how the school is from Josiah Turner's mother. UCLA shows me the most interest. I took an unofficial visit to Pepperdine. I really like the school and the view is beautiful."

Having already seen Pepperdine and Cal Poly, Allen knows of a few other schools he'd like to check out.

"I want to see Arizona's campus, Oregon's campus and UCLA's," Allen said.

When Allen gets ready to make a decision, he says that location will play a factor.

"I want to be on the West Coast," he said. "I want to stay close to home. I also want to major in sports management and minor in communications."
