Robinson adds local interest

Calaen Robinson has recently started to be recruited by another local school. The 2012 combo guard from Tempe (Ariz.) talks about that and the schools which have already offered.

One of the players West Coast schools are sure to take a careful look at in July is 6-foot-2, 163-pound Tempe Corona Del Sol combo guard Calaen Robinson.

Already holding offers from Arizona State, BYU and St. Mary's, Robinson has recently picked up serious interest from another local school.

"I've been talking to U of A," Robinson said. "I talked to coach Sean Miller and he told me they were going to come out and watch me play in July. I already know about the program. I've been interested them for a while. They have a really great crowd."

Beyond Arizona picking up its recruitment of Robinson, he's also started to hear from a couple other schools out west.

"I've started getting letters from Colorado and talking to the assistant coach at Wyoming from UCLA (Scott Duncan)," Robinson said.

Robinson says that he remains completely open, and he gave an update on how things are progressing with the three schools which have offered him.

Arizona State: "They've been on me hard. I went over there to talk to Herb Sendek and we were talking about the open gyms they have there."

BYU: "They've been on me. I've been talking to coach (Tim) LaComb a lot. He's been catching up with what I've been doing and stuff."

St. Mary's: "We went to their team camp and finished second place. I got to talk to coach (Randy) Bennett and he said they're going to be on me real hard in July. They want me to take one of my visits to there."

Robinson currently isn't planning on making an early decision and hopes to see some schools before deciding.

"I might take officials first," he said.
