York goes with Arizona

In the middle of the first July evaluation period, Arizona struck, picking up a top 100 prospect from the west coast.

Over the past two weeks there have been a number of rumblings about Gabe York's recruitment.

On Sunday the talented 6-foot-2 guard opted to end his recruitment. He confirmed to Scout.com that he will play his college ball for Sean Miller at Arizona.

"When I went there it went cool and I know a lot of the players going there too, which is great," York told Scout.com. "Plus the relations I have with the coaches is great too."

York said his decision ultimately came down to Arizona, Marquette and Washington. The Wildcats won out for a number of reasons, but location certainly played a role.

"I just feel like it's going to be a really great fit," York said. "The main reason I picked Arizona is because it's close to home and thinking about it I really want to be close to my mom and all my other family members can come watch me."

York, who is ranked No. 64 overall in the 2012 class, is Arizona's second verbal commitment. He joins Grant Jerrett to make up their current class.
