Murray State Lands Pair

Mick Cronin is off and running at Murray State. The new head coach has a pair of commitments that should really help his program.

Mick Cronin has the reputation of a big time recruiter. So far at Murray State, he's lived up to the billing.

In his first month on the job, Cronin has landed a pair of guys who can really help the Racers. The gem of the recruiting class has to be Kelvin Brown. As a high school senior, he was on our pre-season Top 100 list.

This past year at Fort Scott JC, he averaged 21 points and 11 rebounds en route to leading Region VI in scoring. He was named to the first-team all-conference list in the Jayhawk Conference.

"He's the real deal," said Fort Scott coach Brette Tanner. "He's all-conference in a few other conferences let alone the Ohio Valley. He's 6-7 and his best position is the four, but the way he plays it doesn't matter. He's a threat because he can step out on the perimeter."

Joining Brown next season in Murray is guard Adam Chiles. The Louisville product that played a season at Kentucky before transferring to Vincennes Junior College is athletic and fast and his presence will be welcomed.
