Mike Bryson, a 2012 shooting guard from Sacramento (Calif.), helped himself as much as any player in the west with his performance during the first half of the July evaluation period...
, 6-4 SR SG Sacramento (Calif.) Foothill, was a virtual unknown coming into July. But his play during the first two weeks of July caught the eyes of a number of coaches and his recruitment has taken off as a result. A very good shooter, with good athleticism and a solid body, Bryson is one of the top shooting guard prospects in the west for 2012.
"I've been hearing from Colorado, San Francisco, St. Mary's, Stanford, Pacific, Sacramento State and some other schools that I can't recall," said Bryson.
Bryson hadn't received any offers at the time I spoke with him, but that figures to change by the end of this month.
Bryson talked a little about the factors he will consider when picking a school.
"I'd rather stay on the West Coast if possible, but I would go east if it's a good offer," said Bryson. "I'd like to play early, but redshirting would be ok. A good education is the main thing."
With his recruitment just now taking off, Bryson said he will take his time making a decision.
"I don't really have a time frame," said Bryson.
Bryson said he has a 3.0 GPA.
