Deng quickly picks up six offers

Deng Deng entered July with no offers. The 2012 Utah forward has quickly picked up six. He talks to Scout.com about who has offered and when he would like to make a decision.

After an impressive performance at the Fullcourt Press All-West Camp, 6-foot-6, 185-pound 2012 Salt Lake City (Utah) Cottonwood small forward Deng Deng has quickly gone from zero offers to six.

"I picked up six offers," Deng said. "Hawaii, Long Beach State, Idaho, Oregon State, Colorado and Santa Barbara all offered. It's pretty exciting. I'm just glad that all of the hard work has paid off but I still have to go out and work harder."

Beyond those six schools, three others are showing attention.

"Washington State, Portland and Cal Poly have shown a lot of interest," he said.

Despite all the attention, Deng is still completely open in his recruitment.

"I'm still wide open," he said. "I'm trying to make a decision by the end of August or in September, around there. I'm just going to see who comes in. Anyone who is interested in me, I'll be interested in them."

Finding a place that will make him a better player is most important to Deng when selecting a school.

"I'll look at the school that's going to help me develop my game," Deng said. "I want to develop and see where I can go after that."

An athletic forward with a great motor, Deng takes pride in impacting the game in numerous ways.

"My game is do it all," he said. "I try to be an all-around player. I'm trying to work on my ball handling skills and decision making."
