Paris Taking Advantage of Opportunity

6-8 David "Bubba" Paris is parlaying an invite to the Nike Camp into a good performance and some solid recruiting attention...

David Paris, 6-8 SR PF, Modesto (Calif.) Modesto Christian, is at the Nike All-America Camp, and he says he has a mission for his trip.

"I'd like to get exposure to a few more colleges," Paris said. "The two schools I'd really like to see me and start recruiting me are Kansas and Arizona."

Currently Paris said that Cal, Arizona State, Michigan, Utah, and New Mexico are recruiting him, and that ASU, Utah and New Mexico have offered him a scholarship.

If he had to choose right now, Paris said, his favorite would be Cal. "My teammate, Rich [Midgley] has already committed there. With Rich going there, and it being close to home, it'd be a good place for me. But I really like Kansas."

Paris would like to get his decision over with soon, though. "I'm looking to commit early. At the latest would be during the November signing period. I'll probably get it over with even before I take trips. If I'm not sure, I'll take a couple of trips. But I'd really like to take a couple of unofficial visits and then make the decision."

Paris said he has a 3.1 GPA and a 890 SAT.
