Brian Hutt, 6-8 PF/C, Wheat Ridge (Col.) High, has turned in a solid performance at the Nike Camp, showing good mobility and skills against some of the best big men in the country.
Being at the Nike Camp, Hutt said "has been a lot of fun. It's great to play against all of the best from around the country. It gives me an idea of where I am, to see where I am."
On the recruiting front, Hutt said he's still wide open but has a nice, tidy list of schools he's considering. "Stanford, Vanderbilt, Colorado, Colorado State, New Mexico and Denver are the schools I'm considering the most," Hutt said. He did say, though, that he wouldn't mind hearing from Notre Dame. "I'm a good Catholic boy. It would make the grandparents proud."
The grandparents are also probably pretty proud that Hutt has a 3.5 GPA and scored a 23 on his ACT. But they might be sad to know that he has no qualms about going to school away from home.
Hutt, who averaged 17 points and 11 boards for his high school as a junior, also said he has rough schedule for when he'd like to make a decision. "I definitely want to commit by the fall signing period," he said. "I want to take some visits. I definitely would like to visit Stanford and Vanderbilt. I've already been to Colorado and Denver since they're so close. Then, after visiting a few schools I think I'll be ready to know where I want to go."
