Wide Interest For Aaron

Shaqquan Aaron, one of the elite prospects in the class of 2014, is hearing from some of the top programs in the country...

Shaqquan Aaron, 6-6 SO SG/SF Santa Ana (Calif.) Mater Dei, is a very talented young prospect with a big upside. Aaron has a prototypical wing body, with a smooth stroke to three-point range, and above average ball skills overall. He's still maturing physically, but once he gains some weight and strength he figures to be one of the better players in the class.

I spoke with Aaron recently and asked about the schools that have been recruiting him so far.

"Most of the Pac-10, UCLA, UConn, Kansas, Kentucky, Gonzaga and some others," said Aaron.

I asked Aaron if any schools stand out for him at the moment.

"I like UConn – they just won the championship," said Aaron. "I've always liked UCLA. And I like Kansas too."

I asked Aaron what he is looking for in a school.

"A team that defends, and runs, but with some structure," said Aaron. "The location doesn't really matter to me."

Aaron has been to several schools already.

"I've been to UCLA, Kansas, USC, Stanford and Arizona State," said Aaron.

Aaron said he's in no hurry to make a decision.

"I'm not really thinking about the timing right now," said Aaron. "I just want to get better."

Aaron said he has a 3.5 GPA.
