"Providence, Cincinnati, Seton Hall, St. John's, UConn, Georgia Tech and Memphis have offered," said Jaklitsch. "Pittsburgh, Florida, Miami, Texas and UCLA are some of the others showing interest. UCLA got involved after Coach Howland saw Chris have a great game against Dream Vision in July."
I asked Jaklitsch about the factors that will be important to Obekpa's decision.
"Style of play will be important to him, as well as playing time," said Jaklitsch. "How the coach will be able to develop his game is going to be important. And he's a very good student, so academics will be important. He'd like to major in computer science."
Obekpa is originally from Nigeria and Jaklitsch said Obekpa isn't really familiar with American schools.
"He needs to get a feel for the school and their staffs," said Jaklitsch. "Being from Nigeria, he doesn't really know anything about the colleges here."
Jaklitsch said no official visits have been scheduled yet.
"Chris has been on vacation, I'm going to see him tomorrow," said Jaklitsch. "All the schools are kind of jockeying for visits and we need to sit down and go through everything."
