Stover Sorting Through Options

Nick Stover, a senior forward out of Southern California, is planning on meeting with a number of coaches in September before he cuts his list down...

Nick Stover, 6-5 SR SF Los Angeles (Calif.) Windward, had a very nice showing in the summer and he has a wide variety of schools recruiting him.

I spoke with Nick's father Craig Stover recently and he gave me a list of schools involved with his son.

"Nevada, Loyola Marymount, Long Beach State, San Diego, Portland, UC Santa Barbara, UC Irvine, Pepperdine…there are a lot of schools expressing interest," said Stover. "LMU didn't miss a minute of his games in the summer – Jason Levy was there at every game."

Stover said they are in the process of figuring out which schools to include in the final group.

"We're going to go through the process, see which schools are serious in September and then go from there," said Stover.

I asked Mr. Stover what the main factors will be for his son in reaching a college choice.

"Playing time, someplace where he can play," said Stover. "And it will also be important to hear how the coach plans on using him."

Stover has been to a few schools to play in Elite Camps, but has yet to take any visits. Mr. Stover said Nick will set up his official visits once they hear what each school has to say during the in-home visits.

"He worked so hard to get to where he is now that I want him to go through the process and see what all the options are," said Mr. Stover.
