Carter cuts list to seven

Rob Carter informed he has narrowed his list of schools down to seven. Who made the list?

Over the past few weeks Robert Carter has been mulling over his list and examining the schools that were recruiting him.

Late Sunday night, Carter, a five-star prospect, cut his list down to seven schools -- Florida State, Georgia Tech, Georgia, Florida, Kentucky, Maryland and Rhode Island.

"These are schools I feel comfortable with," Carter told

" Carter, who called it a "relief" to get it down to a working list, has a plan going forward and that starts with taking some official visits.

"In a couple of weeks I'm going to cut it down to five and take official visits to them," he added. "Then I'll take official visits and then make my decision from there on where I feel comfortable and where I can develop and hopefully get to the next level."

At this point the Carter, a recent transfer to Lithonia (Ga.) Shiloh, hasn't set up any visits.

"Not yet," he said. "Nobody knows yet. I just cut down my list a few minutes ago."

"I'm starting from those seven," he added. "Whoever wants me the most and whoever will help me achieve want I want to achieve, that's where I'm going to end up going."

The 6-foot-9, 245-pound big man is ranked No. 19 overall in the 2012 class.
