Aget to Mountain West

The decision is in for Obij Aget and he is headed to the Mountain West

Throughout his time as a head coach, Steve Alford has had a lot of success recruiting the state of Indiana. The native Hoosier has deep ties to the area, and they paid off in a big way on Tuesday with the decision of Obij Aget to commit to the New Mexico Lobos.

The 7-foot Aget had an excellent summer for Indiana Elite after a strong high school campaign with LaPorte (IN) LaLumiere. Now he is off the board making his decision.

"I went on the visit and it was very good, and Coach (Steve) Alford is a real good coach," said Aget. "I like them a lot and liked the campus. I feel like when I go there I can do good and have a good basketball career."

Aget's also had significant interest from schools such as Florida State, West Virginia, and others. He picked up significant attention after his strong play during Indiana Elite's run at the Adidas Super 64 in Las Vegas.

In the end it was Aget's comfort with the coaching staff that made the decision.

"Coach Alford talked to me a lot about how they play and the program, and I really loved it," explained Aget. "I feel that he will make it easy for me because we have such a good relationship."

By committing, Aget is the first member of the Lobos 2012 recruiting class.
