Wallace has in-homes, official planned

2012 point guard Tyrone Wallace is working on scheduling in-homes and officials. Here's the latest on the four-star prospect.

The top available point guard on the West Coast in 2012 is making progress with his recruitment. 6-foot-4, 175-pound Bakersfield (Calif.)'s Tyrone Wallace has scheduled four in-home visits, with other schools still in the picture.

"We have two visits on September 9th and two on the 13th," said Tyrone Wallace, Sr. "On the 9th we have Fresno State and California coming in and on the 13th we have Colorado and Oregon.

"There will be others. We're still considering San Diego State and UNLV. That's my take, although I'm not sure what Tyrone wants to do yet."

On top of the four in-home visits, Wallace has been able to schedule one official visit so far.

"We'll go to Colorado on October 22nd," Wallace, Sr. said. "We'll also set up one for San Diego State, but that could be official or unofficial. Cal probably would be one also."

When asked if there was currently a leader in his recruitment, Wallace, Sr. said his son is still open.

"I don't want to say right now because I don't want anybody to feel like their chances are any less," he said. "Right now we're keeping an open mind about the whole recruiting process."

While Wallace previously said he would make a spring decision, his father won't rule out the possibility of getting things done in the fall.

"If he goes somewhere and he walks in and he has a good feeling and says, 'You know what dad I want to go there,' then I'll advise him to take it," he said.

"If he feels it's the right place, I'll tell him it's okay to go there. The visits are going to be very important."
