Brandon decides during visit

Montay Brandon had planned on taking two more visits, but those plans changed Friday evening. He will play in the ACC.

Montay Brandon didn't plan on committing during his visit to Florida State, but just shortly after making it to Tallahasse he didn't want to wait.

"I had planned on taking those other visits," he said. "I don't know man, Florida State just blew me away."

Tennessee and Missouri were also in the picture for Brandon, as he had set up official visit dates with both schools. But Brandon was ready to end the process.

"I'm really excited," Brandon told shortly after committed to Leonard Hamilton.

"I was talking to coach Hamilton and just going through the campus and looking at his track record, he just sold me on that," Brandon added. "I'm ready to be a Florida State Seminole."

According to Brandon, Florida State assistant coach Dennis Gates was a big reason he fell for the Seminoles.

"I can talk to coach Gates about anything," he said. "He's been recruiting me since Boo Williams. Every since then he's been building that relationship with me."

Brandon, a four-star prospect, ranks No. 84 overall in's 2012 rankings. He is Florida State's first 2012 commitment.
