DeCosey picks Temple

Quenton DeCosey ended his recruitment. He's headed to play for the Temple Owls.

Temple scored an important piece late Wednesday evening.

Quenton DeCosey, a standout at Metuchen (N.J.) St. Joseph, gave the Owls a verbal commitment after considering a host of schools.

"Yes [I committed] to Temple," DeCosey texted Scout.com.

Throughout the recruiting process, DeCosey had picked up interest from Tennessee, Richmond, Towson, Seton Hall, West Virginia, Rutgers, Georgia Tech and Manhattan.

"I picked Temple because of its academic program, coaching staff, family environment, players and distance," DeCosey added.

The 2012 wing prospect emerged on the summer circuit playing for Sports U/Team Izod. At 6-foot-5 he has good size, plays with energy and aggressively attacks the basket looking to score.

DeCosey is the second verbal commitment of the 2012 class for Temple. He joins Devontae Watson, a 6-foot-10 big man out of Pennsylvania, to make up their two-man class.
