Jackson now has three offers

Four-star guard Demetrius Jackson has a trio of offers with another unofficial visit scheduled to take place.

One player from the state of Indiana that really stepped up this summer was Mishawaka (Ind.) Marian standout Demetrius Jackson. The combo guard has elite burst with the ball in his hands, and also is a very capable scorer. Now schools are showing more and more interest in the top 100 prospect.

"I thought it was a great summer, the best summer so far," said Jackson. "I feel like me and my team made great improvements. We got better every weekend, and that is good for us going into the high school season when we will be competing at a high level."

When it comes to his recruiting overall, things have really picked up for Jackson.

"The schools that have offered me are Xavier, Notre Dame, and Butler," said Jackson. "Outside of them I am hearing the most from Indiana, Michigan State, Illinois, Western Michigan, and Central Michigan."

Recently Jackson made a visit to Notre Dame. The South Bend campus is only minutes from his home, and Jackson enjoyed the trip.

"It was great," said Jackson of his trip to Notre Dame. "It was just something normal like when I go up there and play with the players on their team, but this time I toured the campus with the coaching staff and everything. I got to sit down and talk to Coach (Mike) Brey so that was real good and I enjoyed it. It was kind of normal, but better than usual."

Also he made a trip to Butler, and the Bulldogs have a family connection with Jackson.

"It was a great experience, and it proves that you don't have to be the biggest school in the nation, you just have to compete," said Jackson. "Coach (Brad) Stevens was really good to talk to, and I think they have a really good coaching staff at Butler. My dad went to Butler, and he was excited to see his old stomping grounds. He was probably giving me the most information about Butler. Coach Stevens is really, really smart. He is probably the smartest guy I have ever talked to, so that is a definite plus."

The next trip on the schedule for Jackson is one to Michigan State.

"I am visiting Michigan State on September 24," explained Jackson. "They have talked to me about the things that are necessary to play for Michigan State. We have had a lot of good conversations so I expect a good visit."

For now Jackson isn't really spending too much time stressing trying to make a decision. Instead he is simply taking this process for what it is.

"I am really thankful to be blessed with this opportunity," said Jackson. "I never saw this coming so I am just happy for the opportunities I am given. I am just trying to get better and see where this whole thing takes me. I don't have a time line, I am just taking it day by day and trying to get better."
