Schools stop by to see Davis

LEXINGTON, Ky. – 2014 forward Jackson Davis has high major interest. A number of college programs stopped by his school this week.

In just a few days, Jackson Davis, a 6-foot-7, 215-pound power forward, has had a handful of college programs stop by Lexington (Ky.) Lafayette to watch him work out.

On Monday Illinois swung by Lafayette to show interest and watch the Generals go through conditioning drills. Then on Tuesday, Indiana and Xavier watched Davis play pick up ball. Plus Minnesota stopped by on Wednesday.

"It's going pretty good," Davis said of his recruitment. "I'm getting letters in all the time."

Now the interest through letters is turning into more. High majors are tracking him.

To go with the schools that have stopped by Lafayette recently, Indiana, Purdue and Louisville are also recruiting him.

To date Davis has taken unofficial visits to Purdue, Indiana, Louisville and Xavier.

All of the college attention stems from a solid spring and summer playing with Mid-America Elite, a team based out of Illinois.

"The summer went pretty good for me," Davis said. "I did a lot of work in the gym working on getting bigger and stronger."

Davis teamed up with close friend and 2014 point guard standout Larry Austin to form a heck of a inside, outside punch on the AAU circuit.

"That was really fun," Davis told "We were a pretty good team. We were a good fit together."
