2013 Intro: Paul Watson

Paul Watson, a promising 2013 prospect from Arizona, has a number of schools in the west showing interest in him...

Paul Watson, 6-6 JR SF Phoenix (Ariz.) Paradise Valley, is one of the top wings in the west for 2013. Long and rangy, Watson is an above average athlete with a solid stroke to the stripe.

I spoke with Watson recently and asked about the schools that he's heard from to date.

"I've been hearing from Boise State, Fresno State, Colorado, Arizona State, Oregon State and UNLV," said Watson.

Watson said each of the schools have sent coaches out to see him work out at his school in recent weeks.

I asked Watson what he is looking for in a school.

"I want a place with good academics, where I'm surrounded by good people," said Watson. "A good basketball program, someplace where they get up and down.

When asked if location or early playing time is an issue for him, Watson replied, "The location doesn't matter. Early playing time is really important as I'd like to be a contributor in my freshman year."

Watson has been to local school ASU unofficially, but has yet to see any other schools.

"I've been talking with some of the coaches about visiting their schools, but we don't have anything set up yet," said Watson.

Watson said he hopes to make his decision sometime after his junior year.

"I'll probably decide sometime after the summer," said Watson.

Watson said he has a 3.5 GPA.
