2013 Intro: Calvin Hermanson

Calvin Hermanson, one of the better small forwards in the west for 2013, has a couple of Pac-10 offers in hand already...

Calvin Hermanson, 6-5 JR SF Lake Oswego (Ore.) Lakeridge, is drawing early interest from a number of West Coast programs.

"Oregon State and Utah have offered," said Hermanson. "I'm also hearing from Gonzaga, St. Mary's, Oklahoma State, Washington State and Oregon."

I asked Hermanson if any schools stand out for him.

"No, I'm pretty much wide open," said Hermanson.

Hermanson talked a little about the factors that will be important to him when he makes his choice.

"I want to play at the highest level where I can play a lot," said Hermanson. "The location isn't really an issue, but I'd definitely like to be able to play some minutes as a freshman and then work my way into being a main player by my sophomore year."

Hermanson has taken a few unofficial visits already.

"I've been to Oregon and Oregon State," said Hermanson. "I also went to Stanford for a camp last summer. I've been talking with Gonzaga and St. Mary's about visiting. It's possible I might do that over spring or winter break."

I asked Hermanson if he has a time frame for picking a school.

"I think probably around August, after the July evaluation period," said Hermanson.

Hermanson said he has a 3.5 GPA.
