Morrison Looking For New School

South Carolina swingman Marcus Morrison is leaving Columbia after just one season. The Florida native has his release and is looking for a new school.

Marcus Morrison, a 6-6 small forward, who played last season with the South Carolina Gamecocks is transferring.

"Basically, I'm just looking for somewhere where I can fit into a good system for me," Morrison said. "… uptempo style, pressing and running where I could use my athleticism to my advantage is what I want."

Back in 2002, Morrison helped lead St. Petersburg Lakewood to an unexpected state title. He was named first-team all-state. Morrison is an incredible athlete who needs to play in a style that allows him to get into the open floor and run and finish.

Look for schools like South Florida and Central Florida to pursue him. He'd also like to look at some programs in Georgia. "I'm pretty much open to anything. I'm not ruling out anything but I would like to be closer to home. But, being away from home is not a problem."

Schools can contact Morrison as he was granted his release on Monday from South Carolina.
