Johnson almost ready to commit

One of the West Coast's top wings in the 2012 class is getting ready to make a decision. Here's the latest on Demarquise Johnson's recruitment.

After taking official visits to finalists Washington, Washington State, Gonzaga and UNLV, 6-foot-5, 185-pound Phoenix Westwind Academy 2012 small forward Demarquise Johnson is almost ready to make a decision.

Demarquise's father, Tommy Johnson, told that they're aiming for one of two dates.

"He'll probably do it on Oct. 21st or 22nd," Johnson said. "He's waiting on his test results and I believe he'll get them on the 21st, so he'll make his commitment that day or the next day."

After visiting all four schools, Demarquise has a pretty good idea of where he'll attend college.

"We have talked about it and I think he's pretty close," Johnson said. "He's just going to take the next couple of weeks and make sure that it's where he wants to be."

What is the reason that he'll likely attend this particular school?

"He likes all four schools, but the one particular school, the one thing he said to me a long time ago that he'd feel it in his heart, and that's what he mentioned to me, he feels it in his heart," Johnson said.

"It's about where he feels comfortable. He knows wherever he's going that he needs to work hard. He feels like he can play wherever he goes. In his mind he thinks he can go anywhere and make an impact depending on how hard he works."
