2013 Intro: London Perrantes

London Perrantes, a promising 2013 point guard out of Southern California, gives us some early thoughts on his recruitment...

London Perrantes, 6-0 JR PG Encino (Calif.) Crespi, is a true point guard with a terrific feel for the game. While he's just an average athlete, Perrantes has a high skill level and great approach to the game.

I spoke with Perrantes recently and he gave me a long list of schools that have been in touch with him so far.

"San Francisco and Pepperdine have offered," said Perrantes. "And I'm hearing from St. Mary's, Cal, Gonzaga, San Diego, Portland, Boise State, Iowa, North Carolina State, Yale, Colorado State, Arizona State and Stanford."

Perrantes took an unofficial visit to Pepperdine a few weeks ago and he'll be making a Bay Area swing this coming weekend.

"I'm going to visit USF, St. Mary's and Cal this weekend," said Perrantes.

Perrantes talked a little about the issues that will be important to him when picking a school.

"A place that suits me and my family," said Perrantes. "I'd like to be in a college-type town. Great academics are important. And I'm used to having a community at Crespi, so I'd like to be at a college with that type of feeling."

I asked Perrantes if any school stands out for him at the moment.

"I'd don't really have a list yet," said Perrantes. "But my dream school on the West Coast would be Stanford."

Perrantes said he has a time frame in mind for choosing a school.

"Definitely not until after July, but probably before my senior year," said Perrantes.

Perrantes said he has a 3.0 GPA.
