Hawkins goes with the Bulls

Javontae Hawkins made his college pick on Monday. He's headed south to run with the South Florida Bulls.

South Florida scored a commitment from Michigan native and current Huntington (W.V.) Prep standout Javontae Hawkins on Monday.

Huntington Prep coach Rob Fulford confirmed the news to Scout.com.

"USF is getting an extremely high level athlete and scorer," Fulford said. "Javontae will be an immediate impact player for Stan. He is a gym rat that is potential all Big East player."

"I anticipate Javontae to have a huge year at Huntington Prep and we are very excited for him," Fulford added.

Hawkins, a 6-foot-4 wing, is South Florida's third commitment of the 2012 class. He joins Junior College stand out Waverly Austin and Musa Abdul-Aleem to make up their current class.
