Virginia Tech scores second in '12

Seth Greenberg and his staff picked up their second verbal commitment of the 2012 class. This time around they scored one close to home.

Marshall Wood will stay close to home.

Seth Greenberg scored a commitment from the Rustburg (Va.) High standout Tuesday morning. Rustburg coach Brantley Shidles confirmed the news with

"He just felt at home," Shidles told "He really liked the coaching staff. He felt a good rapport with the players and it just felt like the right fit for him."

"Seth and James Johnson both recruited him pretty heavily," he added. "They were both very involved the process."

During his junior season, Wood averaged 20 points and 10 rebounds. Shidles told he has impressive long term potential.

"He can really shot the ball," he said. "He's really long. He's going to need to get stronger and improve his ball handling a little bit, but he's a really good offensive rebounder and he's play swell defensively. I think he has a chance to be really special."

Wood is Virginia Tech's second verbal commitment of the 2012 class. He joins four-star prospect and athletic forward Montrezl Harrell to make up their two-man recruiting class.
