Gorney Headed To Iowa

Vandalia Butler rising senior Seth Gorney ended his recruitment on Tuesday. The big man will play his college ball in the Big Ten.

On Tuesday, Seth Gorney selected the Iowa Hawkeyes over the Ohio State Buckeyes. Gorney, a 7-0, 240 pounder, visited the Hawkeyes earlier this month and just felt great about the fit.

"I guess Iowa just had what I thought was a program that would fit me better," Gorney said of his selection. "I knew [where I wanted to go] about a week after my official visit to Ohio State."

Gorney, a future business major, took visits to both the Hawkeyes and Buckeyes this month. "I just felt like I fit in there. I got along great with the players and coaches and the school itself is wonderful."

Last season, Gorney averaged 9 rebounds and 13 points a game. He runs with the Columbus Basketball Club and will attend the Nike All-American Camp. CBC will also play at the Big Time. Gorney is Iowa's second commitment of the year. They added Alex Thompson, a member of the Martin Bros. Select AAU team, earlier in the year.
