Cameron Picks PSU

Penn State jumped on the commitment bandwagon. The Nittany Lions landed Bloomington Red point guard Brandon Cameron after the Nike Peach Jam.

Cameron To Penn State

Gary (IN) West Side head coach John Boyd told BlueChipHoops that senior PG Brandon Cameron made a commitment to Penn State. Cameron averaged 15 points, 7 assists and 6 rebounds last year.

He had received interest from Georgia, SMU, Marquette, Yale and Princeton. He was offered scholarships by Georgia and financial aid packages by the Ivy League schools.

"He's a floor general," Boyd said. "He's a relentless leader who does whatever he has to do to win games. We have a legacy of putting out goods guards [at West Side]."

Boyd was quick to point out that the Cameron everyone is seeing with Bloomington Red is not the same kid who plays for him during the regular season. "For some reason, he's playing in an offense where he just isn't doing as well as I thought he should this summer."
