Dudley In Unique Situation

Jared Dudley was named to the all-tournament team at the recent Bob Gibbons Tournament of Champions. Dudley, a potential prep school candidate, has some options for next season.

Jared Dudley is a high school senior in very good academic standing at San Diego (CA) Horizon High. College offers? Oh yeah, he's got them.

Penn State, Creighton, San Diego State and Fresno State would like to have him. According to Dudley, they've offered scholarships. So, why not take one?

"A lot of schools came in the end," Dudley said. "Penn State has a new coach. San Diego State came on last weekend."

Dudley's got some options. A likely scenario is that once word leaks out that the 6-6 forward had a nice event last weekend at the T.O.C. – he was named all-tournament – a number of colleges will rush into the picture. After all, the kid can play. Coming off a performance last summer with an EBO team in Las Vegas, we rated him a mid-major player. He's better than that right now.

He's 6-6 and has good size and a nice touch. Dudley plays hard and was good enough to earn the all-tournament nod at the prestigious event. It's entirely possible that he plays the summer with Pump ‘n Run at some events and then picks a school in time for the fall.

" I want a good conference where I can come in and work on my game," Dudley said.

He should have few problems finding suitors.
