Watson up to six offers

One of the most sought after 2013 small forward prospects out west right now is Paul Watson. The Phoenix forward gives Scout.com an update on his recruitment.

One of the best small forward prospects out west in 2013 is 6-foot-6, 190-pound Phoenix Paradise Valley's Paul Watson.

Watson is a lengthy athlete who is most comfortable on the perimeter - where he is a good three-point shooter - but in one viewing did back in a defender and made a nice spin move to the basket, while also hitting a couple midrange jumpers.

The more desire he shows to back smaller defenders in the post the better, and he can also improve his effort and rebounding, although he's not bad in either area.

Watson has accumulated six scholarship offers to date.

"My recruiting is going well," Watson said. "Fresno State, Colorado, Boise State, Texas Tech, Arizona State and Oregon State have offered."

So far, Watson has checked out one campus and hopes to see more schools soon.

"I took an unofficial to ASU," he said. "It's a nice school, good campus, cool coaches and good facilities. Over winter break I'll hopefully check out some schools in California."

For now, Watson doesn't have any leaders but does have an idea what he's looking for in a school.

"I'm always wide open," Watson said. "I'll keep my options open. I'm looking for a good campus, coaching staff and being surrounded by good people."

Watson doesn't plan on getting anything done with his recruitment anytime soon.

"I'm looking towards making a decision going into next summer," he said.
