Bailey has favorite

Isaiah Bailey is one of the most intriguing prospects out west in 2014 and has an early leader in his recruitment.

One of the top 2014 prospects out west is 6-foot-5, 180-pound Compton small forward Isaiah Bailey.

The athletic wing excels at getting to the basket and is a very good scorer from midrange and in. He's inconsistent from three but his athleticism, body control, physical upside and scoring ability make for a prospect with serious potential.

Bailey attributes the progress in his game to his efforts over the summer.

"My game is coming around great," Bailey said. "I worked hard in the summer and I'm still trying to get better and help my team win."

Bailey says that he's hearing from Arizona, Arizona State, USC, Alabama and Auburn, with one school standing out for him.

"I really like Arizona," he said. "I just like the up and down system, the defense they play and I really like the fan base. I'd like to keep my recruitment open but they're my favorite."

When it comes time to make a decision, Bailey has a few factors he'll be looking for.

"I'll be looking for hospitality, the system and somewhere close to the home, although some days I want to stay close to home and some days I want to go far," he said.

As of now, Bailey is more concerned with his game than his recruitment.

"I'm just focused on getting better and helping my team win," Bailey said. "I'll worry about getting serious about colleges later."
