White makes his choice

Andrew White will play in the Big 12. The talented guard made his college choice on Friday.

Andrew White has been talking about making his college decision for the past month. On Friday he announced his choice.

White, a 6-foot-6 wing prospect out of Charlottesville (Va.) Miller School, picked Bill Self and his Kansas Jayhawks.

"I have decided to attend the University of Kansas to play college basketball," White told Matt Lincoln, of NBC12.

"I think it was a huge opportunity there to play and I have a great relationship with the staff," he added. "Coach Dooley, Bill Self they've been good to me and seeing them play on TV many times I just see an opportunity to play and their style fits my strengths.

Among the schools White considered were Richmond, North Carolina State, George Mason, Cincinnati and Virginia Tech.

White is Kansas' fifth commitment in the 2012 class. He joins four-star recruit Perry Ellis, plus three-star prospects Anrio Adams, Landen Lucas and Zach Peters.

White is ranked No. 52 overall in the 2012 recruiting class.
