Memphis Lands 2005 Guard

Texas Tech got it started when it took a commitment from Justin Wilkerson earlier in the year. Now, the Memphis Tigers have followed suit with a guard.

John Calipari and the Memphis Tigers are on the board … for 2005. On Friday, Memphis accepted a commitment from soon-to-be Blair Academy point guard Eric Price.

"My mom and parents have been influencing me to go to college," Price said. "I've been looking around since 8th grade and I'm pretty comfortable with the fit. I have a lot of friends and family in Memphis."

Price attended Washington (DC) Dunbar last season as a sophomore. On Friday, Price said that he'll attend Blair Academy next season, the school that produced both Charlie Villanueva and Luol Deng.

Apparently, Memphis has been recruiting Price for a while. "Ever since we went down for nationals [in Memphis] when I was 13. The nationals were in Memphis and that's when I really became interested in Memphis.

"I'm pretty comfortable with the team and I know of good players that have come through Memphis that Coach Calipari has produced."
