Greene ends it early

The Brannen Greene decision is in. After mulling over a handful of schools the top 25 prospect made the call.

Brannen Greene maintained that he wanted to make his college decision during his junior season.

So after traveling school to school the 6-foot-7 sharp shooter shortened his list and began examining the schools involved. Tuesday morning Greene, a five-star prospect, committed to Bill Self and Kansas.

"Yesterday I committed to Kansas," Greene told

"I have a great relationship with the coaching staff I talk to them pretty much every day," he added. "We talk on the phone. I just felt like when I went up there I felt it was a place that I could excel."

Greene, who ranks No. 22 overall in the 2013 class, also strongly considered Louisville, Connecticut, Florida, Florida State, Harvard, Memphis, Ohio State and Providence.

Greene said Self made him a priority and was the point man on his recruitment.

"He was the coach I talked to the most," Greene said.  "It was him coach [Joe] Dooley and coach [Danny] Manning.  I had a great relationship with the entire coaching staff."

Kansas now has a pair of commits for the 2013 class. Greene joins top 100 guard and Kansas native Conner Frankamp to make up their current recruiting class.
