Gill to fly with the Cards

Anton Gill, a North Carolina native, made his college decision. He'll play for Rick Pitino in the Big East.

Anton Gill is headed to Louisville.

After mulling over a decision, Anton Gill, a 2013 wing out of Raleigh (N.C.) Ravenscroft, decided he couldn't wait any longer.

"I talked to coach Pitino about 15 minutes ago," Gill told "I committed. I'm excited."

Gill, a four-star prospect, had picked up scholarship offers from East Carolina, Florida State, Charlotte, Wake Forest, Miami, North Carolina State, Virginia Tech, South Carolina, Oklahoma State, Xavier and Rutgers.

"The facilities are great," Gill said. "The gym is amazing. I really like the system and coach Pitino. I decided I wanted to play for coach Pitino."

Louisville's Kevin Keatts has been on Gill since arriving at Louisville as an assistant coach. The Cardinals stayed hard on him and Gill said that was something he really noticed.

"That's the other thing from day one they were on me and told me I was the guy they wanted," Gill said. "It turned into a why wait situation. I knew that's where I wanted to go."

Gill is Louisville's first commitment in the 2013 class. He is ranked No. 54 overall in the 2013 class.
