Jones in no rush

Torren Jones should end up as one of the more highly recruited West Coast posts in the 2013 class. Here's an update on his recruitment.

There is a shortage of post prospects out west in 2013, and one player who has received some early attention is 6-foot-8, 210-pound Chandler (Ariz.) Basha power forward Torren Jones.

To date, Jones has received offers from Colorado and San Francisco, with attention from schools such as Iowa, Marquette and Notre Dame.

Jones says that Colorado is one of the schools which is recruiting him the hardest.

"I like the location of CU and the climate," Jones said. "I talk to coach (Tad) Boyle. He's cool; he's a laid back guy."

The junior is enjoying the process but in no rush to make a decision.

"Recruiting is going really well," Jones said. "I'm getting a couple more looks and just working every day. No one leads; I'm keeping it open. I don't want to decide until probably the beginning of my senior year."

Jones is enjoying his junior season with the state's top-ranked team.

"It's been a really good season," he said. "We're undefeated so far and playing really good team basketball."

Right now Jones is concentrating on getting better as a player.

"Right now I'm working on my jump shot and post moves," he said. "I've also been rebounding more. I'm working on my ball handling."
