Duke Lands Second Recruit

The Stamford Advocate is reporting that Duke has its second commitment from the Class of 2004. Apparently late Monday night, David McClure picked the Devils.

The Duke Blue Devils now have two commitments from the Class of 2004. DeMarcus Nelson was the first player to pledge his allegiance and David McClure is the second.

Last year after the Tournament of Champions, Nelson made a commitment to the Devils. This year, it was McClure's turn. The prospect unofficially visited the Blue Devils after the event and within 10 days, he's a Devil, according to The Stamford Advocate, McClure's local paper.

McClure had a battle with mono during the spring and he was just getting his legs back at the Tournament of Champions. He's a versatile prospect in that he's got nice touch and range on his jumper and understands how to play.

At last season's ABCD camp, he was elected to participate in the underclassman all-star game. He runs with Jimmy Salmon and the Playaz Basketball Club on the AAU circuit.

McClure took official visits to Duke and Notre Dame and in the end, those were the two schools from which he made his decision.
