Scott continues to add interest

Brenton Scott is a three-star prospect who is having an excellent junior season.

Ft. Wayne (Ind.) Norhtrop High School has a dynamic one-two punch with Brenton Scott and his brother Bryson. Bryson is already a committed prospect, but Brenton is still evaluating his options. For the 2013 combo guard his season is off to an excellent start and his recruitment is beginning to pick up even more.

After a big win over Indianapolis Tech, one in which Scott scored 19 points and did a good job of getting teammates involved, Scott said he was excited about what he and his Northrop teammates showed the state about their team.

"We just wanted to show people what Ft. Wayne is about and what Northrop is about, and that we can play against anybody in the state," said Scott.

While most of the attention to the big schools in the state centers around the city of Indianapolis, Scott hopes that Northrop's impressive start has them on the list of contenders for the state championship.

"We have been hoping to make a statement and show that we are state contenders," Scott explained.

Known for his toughness, defensive intensity, and ability to knock in open shots, Scott is adding more and more attention on the recruiting trail.

"I have been getting calls from Loyola, Indiana State, Ball State, Wright State, Ohio, and all of the other schools that have offered me," said Scott.

Currently Scott says that no schools standout in his recruitment and that he is taking his time, but he does plan on making a pair of unofficial visits for games this season.

"I plan on going down and watching Ohio and Indiana State this year," Scott explained.

On the visits Scott will take a look at several factors that he feels are most important to him going forward when it becomes his time to seriously think about making a decision on his college future.

"I want to see where I can fit in and if I like the campus and stuff like that," said Scott.

Currently Scott is rated as a three-star prospect and is seen as someone who has the ability to make an impact at either guard spot.
