Quentin Taylor, a 2013 shooting guard from Palm Springs (Calif.), had a good showing at the Holiday Classic. A few schools have shown interest in him so far...
, 6-2 JR SG Palm Springs (Calif.) High, is an intriguing prospect with above average athleticism and a solid skill set. More of a scorer than a shooter, Taylor has a nice feel for the game and he competes very well. Taylor is somewhat of a sleeper as he didn't play for a club team in the summer, instead choosing to play for his high school team in a few events.
I spoke with Taylor following his game Wednesday at the Holiday Classic and asked about the schools that have expressed interest in his so far.
"I've been hearing from Pepperdine, UC Irvine, Virginia Tech and San Francisco," said Taylor.
I asked Taylor what he is looking for in a school.
"The academics are the main thing," said Taylor. "I'd like to major in engineering. The location isn't a factor for me."
Taylor has been to Pepperdine a few times, but has yet to visit any other schools.
"I don't really have a time frame for making my decision," said Taylor.
Taylor said he may play for the Riverside Eleate in the spring and summer. He said he has a 3.5 GPA.
