Five in strong pursuit of Hart

Four-star guard Josh Hart has five schools making a significant run at him in his recruitment.

Four-star guard Josh Hart is having a solid season for Washington (DC) Sidwell Friends High School. With his strong junior campaign in full swing, five schools continue to keep the recruiting heat on him.

"The season didn't started off how we hoped, but over the last few games we have really stepped it up," said Hart. "Now we are pulling it together and hopefully we can win our conference championship."

Like his team, the No. 68 overall prospect feels his season has individually has been a bit up and down.

"I think a couple of games I definitely could have done more, but I have had some good games as well," explained Hart. "I have been up and down for most of the season."

When it comes to his recruitment, Hart says five schools are standing out with him.

"Right now the five schools most interested would be Xavier, NC State, Georgetown, Marquette, and Penn State," said Hart.

Currently only one unofficial visit is being planned for Hart, and it won't be a long trip for him to make.

"I haven't really taken any unofficial visits in a while," said Hart. "Still I plan on making a visit to Georgetown to sit down with the coaching staff to see where we both stand right now. That will be the next visit I have."

When it comes to Georgetown's pursuit of him, Hart says it is an honor to be recruited by the local school.

"It is a great experience to be recruited by the hometown team," said Hart. "It is good that they are definitely interested and they are a really good team."

Another school that has been very active since the beginning for Hart is Penn State. Penn State has a new staff that has been working hard to make an impression.

"They are definitely trying to re-build their program," said Hart. "They are taking steps in the right direction and I love their coaching staff. I just think they are an up and coming team who will get it turned around, and it is a school I will definitely look into."

One school more recently turning up the heat is Marquette. The Golden Eagles have extended an offer, and are now a serious suitor.

"The first time I talked to them they offered me and I wasn't expecting that," said Hart. "They are definitely the type of team that plays my style, and I think that definitely is something I will take into consideration when I make my decision."

For now Hart says all the schools on his list are even, and that he will wait a while before making a final decision. However a few factors are already in his mind in terms of what he will be paying attention to when that time comes for him to make a choice.

"Probably it will be the coaching staff and the style of play," explained Hart. "Also I would like to go to a school where basketball is one of the main sports with a lot of fan support. Mostly it will be the coaching staff and the style of play."
