Process is fun for Morris

Top 50 guard Monte Morris is hearing from a number of high major schools and he's enjoying the entire process.

Some recruits enjoy going through the recruiting process, while others get annoyed with the calls and constant contact.

Count Monte Morris, a 2013 point guard out of Flint (Mich.) Beecher, as one of the guys that loves every minute of it.

"It's like Christmas day everyday with all these schools coming after me," Morris told

Morris, a top 100 prospect, currently holds offers from USC, Arizona State, Central Michigan, Western Michigan, Providence, Georgia Tech, North Carolina State and Iowa State.

South Florida, Marquette, Rhode Island, Virginia Tech and Xavier are also interested in the 6-foot-1 guard.

"Everybody is showing me the same amount of love," Morris said when asked about favorites. "I talk to a lot of schools on the daily basis."

Morris has already taken unofficial visits to Central Michigan, Western Michigan, Arizona State and Xavier. He's working on setting up two more.

"I plan on taking a USC visit and Georgia Tech I'm planning go there February 24th," Morris said.

"As of right now I'm planning on taking some more visits during the January to March span," he added. "Me and my mom talk about a lot. Right now we don't know. We are just trying to get a feel for everything."

Midway through his junior season, Morris is averaging 20 points, seven assists and five rebounds per game

"I feel like I've been playing good," Morris said. "I've been a good asset to my team. I've picked up my scoring load a lot this year. I'm averaging 20 points a game. I'm finding players and making the team come together more as one unit."

"I bring a lot of leadership first of all being able to control a team," he added. "I can score the ball real well and defender and rebound, which most point guards don't do. I take a lot of pride in my rebounding.

Morris is currently ranked No. 50 overall in the 2013 recruiting class.
