Williams Picking Up Interest

Jack Williams, a promising sophomore post out of Southern California, has several Pac-12 programs expressing early interest in him...

Jack Williams, 6-7 SO PF West Hills (Calif.) Chaminade, is a promising young post prospect with a solid skill set and a good feel for the game.

I spoke with Williams recently and asked about the schools that have been in touch with him in the early stages of his recruitment.

"USC, UCLA, Washington, Washington State, Arizona State, Arizona, Colorado, Pepperdine, Stanford and Baylor are some of them," said Williams. "Colorado has offered."

I asked Williams if any schools stand out for him so far.

"I like Colorado and Arizona," said Williams. "I like the way Colorado has been playing and I think they are an up and coming program."

Williams talked a little about the factors he will consider when choosing a school.

"I'd like a player's coach, a coach that I can talk to," said Williams. "The style of offense will be something I look at. A good education also, hopefully with a good business program. And someplace that's not too far away. I don't mind going away, but would like to not go too far."

Williams said he doesn't really have a time frame for choosing a school.

"I don't really have a specific time frame," said Williams. "I'll probably decide during my senior year. But if something came up before then that I couldn't pass up, then maybe I would decide earlier."

Williams said he has been to local schools Pepperdine and USC so far for unofficial visits. He said he has a 3.5 GPA.
