2013 Intro: Marcus Jackson

Marcus Jackson has had a very good junior season and his recruitment is picking up. Here's an intro into the SoCal shooting guard.

One of the emerging wing prospects out west is 6-foot-1, 155-pound Los Angeles Pacific Hills shooting guard Marcus Jackson.

While Jackson has a slight frame, he's a lanky wing with a very smooth stroke that has a scorer's mentality. The shooting guard position is very deep out west in 2013 but Jackson has climbed up the depth chart during his junior season.

"I'm playing pretty well," Jackson said. "I'm shooting the ball well, I'm helping on defense more and I'm rebounding more, so I'm contributing to my team more than just scoring."

"I'm trying to work on getting to the basket and finishing. I can also always improve on defense, always get stronger and rebound better."

Recently, Jackson has heard from three programs.

"I've heard from SMU, I'm talking with Arizona State a lot more now, and Princeton," he said.

Jackson says that Arizona State has done a good job recruiting him.

"Coach (Scott) Pera told me to keep up the good work," said Jackson. "He heard that I scored 35 points against Campbell Hall and that I was playing well. He's going to come out soon to watch me play."

The shooter isn't too worried about his recruitment right now.

"I'm just trying to get as many schools interested as possible and then figure everything out later," Jackson said.
