Evan Harris Update
Evan Harris, 6-7 JR PF North Hollywood (Calif.) Harvard-Westlake, told us recently that he's wide open. Harris, who is an oustanding student, plans on taking unofficial visits to San Diego and USF this summer. When we asked if he had any official visits in mind, Harris said, "definitely to Yale and possibly to Princeton and Brown." We asked Harris about the role education would play in his choice, particularly when it comes to an Ivy League education versus staying in the west for basketball. "The education is going to be really important," said Harris. "If I'm going to make a choice for basketball, then the education needs to be at the level of a Stanford or Cal." Harris went on to say that St. Mary's and Santa Clara have been in communication with him. Yale and USF were the two schools that visited him during the contact period at his school. Harris's July plans include playing at the Pump camp 2nd session, possibly ABCD or the Mid-Atlantic basketball camp, the Big Time tournament and Best of Summer.
